Whew. Kevin’s last post swept me off my feet. Yes, I have been neglectful of blogging, Olivia. And there is so much change and wedding preparation to report.
My name has been an interesting point of discussion. I worked very hard over the past few years building a personal brand as Meg Canada, but as close friends and trusted colleagues have pointed out- I can do this again. The name Canada was easy to spell and memorable. Ultimately, I don’t need either to be happy.
I do not believe changing my name is tantamount to career suicide, or counter feminist. Each of us must make our own choices. This is mine. Kevin and I hope to have a family and one name will make things like school, travel, and identity a bit easier.
To ease myself into the process, I have changed my twitter handle to @dotmeg, and I purchased a few domains (www.dotmeg.com, etc.). Slowly, Meg Knodl will emerge and it will be fun.
