It’s a widely known fact that I am a social media junkie. When we were dating, I was excited to learn that Kevin was already an established member of the Flickr community. In fact one of my favorite photos of Kevin is this self-portrait. Kevin shows his heart matches the Flickr logo using a polaroid and felt. The man is crafty. He made this one to win another girl- maybe he knew it would win one, one way or another.
Recently Kevin has a new social media darling- Tumblr. It’s a short form blog site and he has two of them:
1. http://problemsolver.tumblr.com “Posting here about anything that interests me including the MAKE/DIY revolution, Stagecraft, Photography and current events.” He also posts photos of tigers. In case you didn’t know, Kevin loves tigers.
2. http://doingeverythingbetter.tumblr.com/ A self-described self-help Tumblr called Room for Improvement, Kevin posts quotes, art, ideas, and inspiration to do everything better.
The thing about Flickr and these Tumblr blogs is that they give me a glimpse of what life looks like through Kevin’s eyes. They aren’t always things he’s conceived or designed, but they’re filled with places where he sees beauty. I like how life looks through his lens.
If you follow his Tumblrs, you’ll learn Kevin loves chairs, ladders, and shelves. He likes construction and materials. At one point he had a “Look Meg scaffold” Tumblr with photos of scaffold. When we were in Italy he liked to point it out- to my chagrin. I thought he was disappointed that he didn’t have an unobstructed view of a building or sculpture. It turns out he just really likes scaffold. Now I make a point of kissing Kevin when he brings it to my attention.
