Mother’s Day weekend I convinced Kevin to drive to Indiana with me. I dropped him off in Milwaukee to spend some time with his mother and grandmother, and I continued on to see my mother in Valparaiso. About an hour into our drive (just over the Wisconsin border during rush hour) we stopped for Chipotle. I realized I’d left my wallet including my driver’s license at my apartment. Kevin didn’t flinch. We went back to my apartment, and re-started the drive.
Memorial Day weekend we spent an idyllic two days on the North Shore visiting Split Rock Lighthouse, Palisade Head and Gooseberry Falls. We drove over 500 miles arriving back in St. Cloud at 8pm. As we pulled into Kevin’s apartment parking lot he gasped. My keys, he explained, are in Minneapolis. I left them at your apartment. We went to Chipotle and headed back for the city.

2. My car gets better gas mileage than Kevin’s truck.
3. How Stuff Works- Stuff You Should Know makes an excellent podcast for car trips.
4. We’re looking forward to getting hitched and having one household, insurance, and matching sets of keys.
