For Father’s Day, I got Kev a card and two books: Dude, You’re Gonna Be a Dad!: How to Get (Both of You) Through the Next 9 Months and Geek Dad: Awesomely Geeky Projects and Activities for Dads and Kids to Share. The first is more practical as it covers all manners of pregnancy and childbirth related issues. The second book is a fun peek at the many years ahead of us.
I know Kevin has been thinking, talking, and even writing about what he wants our child to know and learn. (See future blog post.) I also know he will be the good example of someone who embraces lifelong learning and loves without judgement. I’m so excited to be having this baby with him!
Of course, I am also thinking about Arnt today. I’ll share a few things he taught me:
- Take advantage of invitations to travel and visit people- casual acquaintances and old friends alike.
- Be friendly and strike up conversations with people in lines, in museums, whenever the opportunity looks like fun.
- Skip, skate, and hug the people you love whenever you can.
