busy

I know it’s a lame excuse but both Meg and I have been unseasonably busy this summer. What with planning a wedding and working to combine two households and keep paying the bills and all. I know what you’re thinking; all of that busy-ness should be fodder for a lovely well written blog post. Well you would be right. Stay tuned for the brilliance (It’ll probably come from Meg.)

(editor’s note: Thanks for passing the buck, babe. Srsly though, we’ll be back soon ;) )

another sweet find: studio vincent

Everyone who knows me, knows I love the jewels and the precious metals. (Maybe I was a Cartier in a past life?) Studio Vincent  is my favorite jeweler.

Their blog says it all:  If you are looking for a cathedral setting, a 4 or 6 prong mounting or a perfectly matched bridal set you might want to shop elsewhere. There are lots of stores that make that kind of jewelry, and they do it well. What they don’t do is continually push the envelope when it comes to design. Studio Vincent owner and master goldsmith Stephen Vincent constantly strives to make his designs better and more interesting. Full bezels, floating diamonds, big fat wide bands, precious metal fused to industrial steel; these are just a few of the things you can expect when you come into our store.

That part was written by Louisa Podlich (also a  budding photographer) who helped us design an amazing engagement ring. We shopped one bitter cold day at four downtown jewelers and none, save SV, had anything that Kevin thought was worth revisiting. (Did I mention he has fantastic taste?)  Now on to the bling:

Emerald-cut goodness

It is so lovely, red gold brushed band, palladium bezel and a fancy- an emerald cut diamond. Kevin’s band will also be red gold. (Some folks call it rose gold or pink gold. I call it yummy.)

meg found kevin? kevin found meg?

Does it really matter anymore? Kevin and I met online, on a site called OK Cupid! He saved my profile sometime in December, but I think I winked at him (an Ok Cupid signature move) in June 2010 (omg 2009, thanks, C.) The rest is history. Kevin gave us this website as a Valentine’s Day present (see a theme?).

KevinfoundMeg.com and MegfoundKevin.com both lead here- My Sweetest Find. Kevin introduced me to geocaching on our second date.  From Wikipedia, “Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called “geocaches” or “caches”) anywhere in the world.” We didn’t find anything on our first hunt. We looked for three caches and found zero. But somewhere along the way, we found each other.

Together we’ve found new dreams and plans for the future (including a wedding!!!!) so stay tuned for more discoveries and more details about our plans.

xo, Meg
